It's being pubbed by Gearbox, and so far they've been doing every deal they can make with EGS, so I wouldn't be surprised if gearbox still wants to abuse Steam as an ad platform for wishlisting, then pull it off to make EGS exclusive for 6 months to a year.Įither way, if they pull it from Steam, it will cause damage to the HW community, and as OrangeBox pointed out, the community has been burned multiple times, and since the RTS genre isn't nearly as popular as it was in the 90's today, it would be financial suicide to make it an EGS exclusive, and thinking you'll get double/triple the sales a year later, because that frankly isn't going to happen, and it doesn't always happen for those that take the exclusivity deal.Īlso, if it's ripped from Steam and made exclusive, I flat out will not be buying the game, 6 months or a year later, I just don't support EGS exclusivity deals, even when the game comes out later on Steam, I'm not going to be counted as a "second launch sale", because sod that greedy mentality.
